MY STORY
Melissa Steininger was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, but has called the Albany, New York, home since she joined the Spectrum News family in June 2018. She is currently an anchor & reporter. She came to the capital region after gaining her reporting chops in Central Pennsylvania, upon graduating from Temple University in 2016. On top of a full-time job, she is also continuing her education. She studies online at Kent State University, pursing her Masters of Journalism, focusing in education. One day she hopes to give back to the next generation of journalists, as an educator.

For Melissa, news is all about sharing the stories of the people in the community and the ability to amplify the countless random acts of kindness that go unnoticed. She loves connecting with those who call the capital region home. More so, one of Melissa’s daily goals is to give the viewers the information they need to know, while holding those in power responsible.

When she's not telling stories, she enjoys exploring local businesses and restaurants. She's a lover of Italian food and sushi! She also loves the arts. She not only expresses herself through writing, but is also a trained pianist and vocalist. You can always find her cheering on Philly sports teams, especially the Super Bowl Champion, Philadelphia Eagles!
